Review: The Rise To The Top With David Siteman Garland
These days, television is all about sex, drugs and action more than anything else. There aren’t many educational shows at all let alone shows about entrepreneurship so I was pleasantly surprised to discover the hit show “The Rise To The Top” hosted by David Siteman Garland the other day via the web.
The Rise To The Top is a show designed to motivate you to pursue your passions and start your own business. There are only 2 episodes available thus far, but from what I’ve seen, the show has the potential to inspire and motivate aspiring entrepreneurs to take control of their own destiny. The show is tailored to 20-30 somethings but has broad appeal for viewers of all ages.
What’s In The Show?

The show covers a wide variety of entrepreneurial topics and always invites a guest speaker to tell his/her start up story. This guest entrepreneur is also available to answer questions from the audience at the end of the show. The episode that I watched featured Derek Gamlin, a successful restaurant and bar owner who was interviewed by David Siteman Garland.
On a personal level, I always find it inspiring to listen to the stories of other successful entrepreneurs. When Derek told his story of how passion and motivation fueled the pursuit of his successful vodka themed restaurant, I couldn’t help but be inspired by his success. His story was especially potent because Derek came across as just a regular guy. He was the antithesis of flashy and completely down to earth. He built his business from the ground up with his brothers. Quite frankly, I don’t see these interviews getting boring anytime soon because The Rise To The Top promises to introduce us to new entrepreneurs with every episode.
The show is also packed with other interesting segments. Segments such as “Entrepreneur Tips and Tricks”, “What I Wished I’d Learned In College”, “Keepin it Legal” and “Get Off The Couch” promise to provide you with quick tips straight from the experts. While I found some of these segments to be somewhat trite, I did find them entertaining.
In this particular episode, the segment that I found the most interesting was when David Siteman Garland told his own personal story of how he gave up law school to pursue his dreams. Look at him now. It’s hard to dispute that he made the right decision.
The Host
A show like The Rise To The Top is nothing without a dynamic host and David Siteman Garland does not disappoint. David possesses a natural energy and imparts enthusiasm and passion to every topic that he presents. He speaks loudly and clearly, enunciates every word, and provides some comic relief as well with his boyish humor. In short, David is what makes the show work.
Conclusion
If you are even remotely thinking about starting your own business, I highly recommend the show. Even if you don’t find the tips to be valuable, you will be inspired and motivated by David and his crew of guest speakers. Passion and inspiration is the key to any successful business venture and The Rise To The Top provides copious amounts of both.
