I believe in using the web as much as possible when researching a business idea. Selling on eBay, as you mentioned, works - as does buying some Google AdWords in order to test your product and messaging before a wider launch. You can even use this to A/B test website templates/designs as well as geo-targeting tests to see where your products/services might perform best. Great Post! Coming from an engineering background, selling was not one of my strong points. But over time, I started developing this skill because it was crucial to our business.
